AMELA
Amela is an indie-folk singer-songwriter from the Gold Coast, Australia. Known for her unique voice and classic songwriting, she is a growing presence in the Australian Music scene. Influenced by artists such as Florence & The Machine and Fleetwood Mac, Amela brings her own unique flavour of folk-pop. Amela was recently awarded winner QLD Wild Turkey Music,receiving mentorship and opening for Australian duo Busby Marou.
Amela’s songs were sampled in Allday's "Codeine 17" and "If Not Now, When?" and 3 of Amela’s songs were also recently featured in the Australian film “Ruby’s Choice”, staring Jayne Seymour. She has had successful international collaborations including Austrian producer Zesawa with their track 'Coming Undone' receiving over 810,000 streams.
Amela was also recently a successful applicant in the Australasian and Canadian AMPAL/MPC CREATE project writing with Australian pop artist JXN and Canadian Countrysinger-songwriter Dan Davidson.
Her music has been celebrated in Australian media including Triple J, 4ZZZ, Radio Metro, 94.1 Gold Coast, AAA Backstage, and BLANK magazine. She has graced the stage at festivals such Woodford Folk Festival and BLEACH Festival and was a Gold Coast Music Award finalistalongside Amy Shark.
Amela is set to record her upcoming album at Airlock studios with Emily Hopley and continue to play live shows with her full line up band.
